The Public Relations Officer of the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie has revealed that Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew are prepared to play for the national team again after a conversation with Coach Kwesi Appiah.
The pair have not been in the national team colours since the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Congo.
Despite their impressive performance at their respective clubs, the duo has been consistently been snubbed by Kwesi Appiah and ahead of Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone, the pair has been again excluded from Kwesi Appiah’s 23 man squad.
An alleged rift between the Coach and the Ayew brothers is reported to have caused their exclusion from Kwesi Appiah’s invitees for national duties.
Fiifi Tackie says the players will make a comeback to the Black Stars after recent dialogue with the Coach.
“I was the person who revealed that Kwesi Appiah has never spoken to the Ayews since last year but he called Jordan Ayew before reaching Andre because the latter was unreachable initially,” Tackie told Goal.
“They spoke lengthily about several issues. Just as I’ve been saying recently, they are ready to play for the national team anytime the coach hands them the opportunity like other Ghanaian footballers.
“The duo will continue to do their best for their clubs and wait for what the future holds,” he added.
The Ayew brothers last featured for the Black Stars in a World Cup qualifier against Congo in Kumasi.
