Kalybos, one of the MCs for the Ghana Movie Awards 2018, has said the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Movie Awards, Fred Nuamah, is a “very stubborn guy who is not ready to listen”.

Kalybos, who was speaking on the January 9, 2019 edition of the Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda, explained that he, Kalybos, was part of the 2018 event from the beginning and even attended some meetings with Fred in relation to the events sponsorship sourcing as things were getting tough for him and needed some credible personalities to help him.

Kalybos further revealed that the event was even delayed because there was difficulty in settling the people who were supposed to put up the place for the event to take place. He explained that all these were as a result of some of the sponsors withdrawing at the eleventh hour.

According to Kalybos, Fred was working alone and didn’t open up for other people to come in and help because it was his own project.

The actor however revealed that he was so depressed at the turnout of events at the Ghana Movie Awards 2018 because he couldn’t present to the audience all that he rehearsed for the program due to the delay in the starting of the event. He added that the DSTV Reps who were present couldn’t telecast live the program due to the same reason.

Kalybos in another development answered with an emphatic “Yes” when asked whether the movie players in Ghana are very desperate for an awards event. He explained that it helps the movie players in looking for endorsement and other sponsorship deals. He explained that it was the reason why a lot of the people who attended the event left as a result of the delay in commencement yet the A-Listed Actors remained seated as they know the benefits of the scheme.
