Still using your old Microsoft Windows 7? Well, I think it is time for you to consider upgrading
Beginning exactly on January 14, 2020, precisely one year from Monday, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7. This means you will not get any more updates or security fixes for the operating system.
But this is only going for the individual users. For the business customers that pay for support, they have no problem. Microsoft will go on providing updates and security fixes for their Windows 7. This is according to ZDNet.
Released in 2009, Windows 7 is still one of the most popularly used operating systems for desktops. Thus, one of the people’s favourite desktop operating system.
Then Windows 10, after a long struggle in the desktop market, eventually has dethroned Windows 7 at the end of the previous year. This is a report from ZDNet. From ZDNet’s report, the NetMarketShare’s December 2018 report showed that 39.2 percent of machines they collect data from used Windows 10. And 36.9 percent of the machines used Windows 7.
Microsoft has been lenient with this terminating support for Windows 7 issue. It was back in 2012 that the computer operating system company agreed to extend five more years of support. The support was for all editions of Windows 7 for individual users.
The advice we can give is definitely to change your operating system version. Upgrade that machine to prevent any security troubles. Remember, it is exactly January 14, 2020. That is just a year away from now. Better upgrade to acquaint yourself with it early. Unless you are a business customer then you can just pay support and receive updates and security fixes.
